ASIS
Listing updated: March 19, 2004
ASIS is a tool for analyzing, debugging, maintaining and monitoring local networks and Internet connections. It captures the data passing through your dial-up connection or network Ethernet card, analyzes the data and represents it in a readable form. It also lets you defragment and assemble network packets into flows. ASIS decodes all the major protocols such as ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, as well as top-level protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, FTP, TELNET and others.
ASIS also contains a special packet builder, through which you can build your own network packets and send them onto the network. This can be used, for example, to check your network for robustness against attacks and intruders.
