ANIXIS Password Reset is a self-service password reset system that allows users to reset their own password, even if they have forgotten their current password. APR helps organizations to reduce help desk operating costs, improve security and increase productivity. ANIXIS Password Reset can also integrate with Password Policy Enforcer to help users choose passwords that comply with the organization's password policy. This further reduces the number of password related helpdesk calls (studies show that 15% to 35% of helpdesk calls are password related).

Specops Password Policy overcomes this restriction by allowing you to specify multiple password policies and assign them based on security group and organizational unit membership, and even for individual user accounts. Specops Password Policy offers granular password complexity requirements when specifying the rules for a password policy. One such rule is the ability to define lists containing words restricted for use in passwords.
Additional features include special behavior when administrators reset lost passwords. A password policy can be configured not to apply when the password is reset, as well as automatically unlocking accounts and requiring the user to change the password at the next logon. This lowers the burden for administrators when resetting lost passwords.
