The Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG 2010) includes firewall functions with a stateful inspection package filter, an application layer firewall, VPN gateway functions, URL-Filtering, web proxy and antivirus functionality.

TMG is integrated into a back-end application infrastructure such as Exchange Server and Windows SharePoint Services and thus offers a secure mechanism for authentification and access.
